Another Proof of the Removal of the Home Button on the Next iPhone

Image
I explained in iPhone 7 Hints Radical Design Improvements of the Next iPhone , about how Apple is planning to make some radical design changes for the 10th anniversary of iPhone next year. Recently, Apple gave another proof that those hints are indeed true. Apple has filed a patent application for a touch screen that acts as a finger print scanner. That means, the home button is no longer necessary. Here is the image of the patent filed: Apple is killing the Home Button one step at a time. First it made it static, now the finger print scanner is being implemented on the touch screen. What's left? The iconic round shape. That will either become a software button, like Android, or will be gone completely and its functionality will be taken over by some new feature. Apple's planning something radical for the next year.

Why the Success of Pixel Phones is Good for Everyone?

Image
1. Software 2. Hardware 3. Marketing This is the combination for Apple's success. None of the other companies have it. Samsung has Hardware. Google has software. Apple can make its product with maximum efficiency with the combination of software and hardware and here is a very good article on that . Out of minimum resources, Apple makes best use of things. That cuts down the costs, simplifies process and gives a great control over things that can't be imagined in Samsung or Google's scenario. That's why, Google keeps releasing its own phones under various brands like Nexus, Android One and now Pixel. Samsung too isn't letting go of its own Tizen OS. Why? Because that's the best way to produce a gadget - total control over software and hardware. Now, either Google will have to produce its own hardware at the risk of pissing Android device manufacturers or Samsung will have to make its Tizen OS strong. Success of any one of them will finally ma

Way to Make Windows Great Again is Hiding in Plain Sight

Nobody can beat Microsoft Office at productivity. It takes care of the littlest things and makes the user experience great. User just gets what he wants in the minimum time and with best support from the software side. Microsoft needs to just do that with the whole Windows. Let's consider Office's awesome things that is making them popular among users. Why Office is best is because it takes care of the smallest interaction of the user with the software i.e. automatic spell-check, automatic capital first word, automatic bullets and a lot more that I personally don't know. But, I understand that Office tries to make things better at every level of interaction the user has with Office suite. That's also the case of most iProducts and Android software. They are tracking the littlest things and are trying to make them easier, better and deliver a good experience to an average user. Now take a look at Windows. To my personal experience, for most average u

How DNA storage will revolutionize digital storage on smartphones, computers and many more?

Image
So, recently I heard the news about SanDisk releasing 1 TB microsd Card. That's huge. Your camera or devices with SDXC card support will have more storage than an average PC, laptop or mostly anything else. You will never have to worry about storage. And with increasing popularity of 4K and 8K videos, 360 degree videos and Apple's Live photos, all notorious for taking up a huge amount of space, such an SD card is literally a boon not for tech-savvy people but also for average people. That's why, Apple doubled the storage on their devices this years. I mean, we are living in a time, where 256 GB of storage on a smart phone is a requirement. Do you get that? And that's on world's most popular smartphone. Not a brand that makes stuff for geeks. So yeah, we can see that the world is forwarding very fast towards more and more digital space consumption. Just 10 years ago the biggest memory card boasted only 32 GB . Today, an average phone comes with that much memory.

Phone Battery Lasting 400 Years!

Image
Imagine your phone coming with a battery that could last for 400 years! That's a good news . According to the news, the technology was found by mistake when the university student, Mya Le Thai, was experimenting different metals and scenarios to see what happens. When she used manganese dioxide and a type of electrolyte gel to coat the gold wires, she saw the drastically longer battery life cycle. A laptop or phone's battery's lifetime is measured on how many times battery could be made completely empty and then completely recharged. That's one cycle. And normal laptop batteries could run 300 to 500 such cycles. What Mya Le Thai found was that with the new way, the battery sustained for over 30,000 cycles. That's equivalent to a battery lasting for up to 400 years! That's immense! Though, they have only mentioned laptop batteries, but I guess they would be able to use the technology for mobile phones and all the other rechargeable devices. Update:

Why Motorola’s #skipthesevens Campaign is Childish Against Apple?

Image
So, I guess Motorola seems to be inspired from this: Apple's Original Advertisement both welcoming and teasing the giant of the time, IBM. That’s an advertisement Apple released back in 80s when IBM first entered into the PC market. It was a very clever advertisement. It was both welcoming the competition and teasing the old dragon. Apple was a leader in the industry and was teasing IBM for the missed opportunity even though IBM was initially ahead in the development of a person computer. Now, here is the Motorola’s attempt play the Apple’s game at Apple itself: Motorola's #skipthesevens Advertisement Campaign Apparently Inspired from Apple's Original What makes Motorola’s attempt childish is that neither Motorola is a leader in the industry nor Apple has missed any opportunity (in fact, it has made others feel like they have already lost many opportunities in smartphones). The very gimmicky and small ‘innovation’ Motorola is boasting upon is its

iPhone 7 Hints Radical Design Improvements of the Next iPhone

Image
It is obvious, isn't it? Apple is planning to remove the traditional home button from its iPhone and when it does, it will replace the functionality with a thinner home button at the lower bezel, integrating the touch ID on the screen and thus shortening upper and lower bezel to reduce the form factor of the iPhone. Meanwhile, making the home button static and backed up by the taptic engine in iPhone 7 is only a field test and also getting people accustomed to the idea of taptic engine feedback from a virtual button or a long thin strip of a button at the lower bezel or whatever type of button Apple chooses to make iPhone smaller in hands. Otherwise, do you really think that an 'inconvenience' like making the whole lower part of the phone vibrate when pressing the home button on iPhone 7, is a thing that Apple would allow? I don't think so. Apple takes care of the littlest inconveniences and this one is a big one comparatively. But, if you think that in the ne

Why Removal of Headphone Jack won't be a Big Problem?

Image
I know, I know. It would be a hell lot of difficult to all of us to use the old headphones, and jack-related accessories and things, but here is my explanation. Bluetooth will Prevail What we lacked was a good, solid Bluetooth experience. To the date, most of the Bluetooth experiences were feeble, clumsy, awkward and requiring constant pairing that was cumbersome for all of us. And that frustration is actually making us believe that Apple's Bluetooth solution will also make us miserable. But, that doesn't seem to be the case here. From the effortless pairing to the littlest requirements while you are listening over Apple's AirPods, they have considered every little thing to make sure that your Bluetooth experience doesn't make you unhappy or miserable. After all, they also realize that listening to music is one of the most regular and important activity smartphone users do and that daily practice can't be made miserable. They have increased the e

Apple Leaks Are Only Ruining The Excitement, Not The Products!

Image
And that makes everything great and hopeful! For last two or three years, Apple's events are becoming just the confirmation of what the most reliable rumors are telling us for months. Totally Unlike the Steve Jobs era when people wouldn't even know if he was going to release a while new product until the day comes. But, the increasing popularity and microscopic surveillance of every movement, action and word, will only lead to more confirmations. Until, Apple succeeds to shut the mouth of every single one who is involved in creating it's products, nothing will change. And other times, I feel like it's all part of Apple's marketing strategy and getting people familiar to its new products beforehand, so no dreams or expectations are shattered. But you can't say anything for sure, at the same time. Well, though one excitement is still there in every new product launch of Apple - what new, revolutionary and life-changing thing Apple will bring
