Why Motorola’s #skipthesevens Campaign is Childish Against Apple?

So, I guess Motorola seems to be inspired from this:
Apple's Original Advertisement both welcoming and teasing the giant of the time, IBM.

That’s an advertisement Apple released back in 80s when IBM first entered into the PC market.
It was a very clever advertisement. It was both welcoming the competition and teasing the old dragon.

Apple was a leader in the industry and was teasing IBM for the missed opportunity even though IBM was initially ahead in the development of a person computer.

Now, here is the Motorola’s attempt play the Apple’s game at Apple itself:
Motorola's #skipthesevens Advertisement Campaign Apparently Inspired from Apple's Original
What makes Motorola’s attempt childish is that neither Motorola is a leader in the industry nor Apple has missed any opportunity (in fact, it has made others feel like they have already lost many opportunities in smartphones). The very gimmicky and small ‘innovation’ Motorola is boasting upon is its modules that attaches to the back of the phone. And though they can be highly useful, I doubt them to be giving a tough competition to Apple in smartphones segments. You can watch MKBHD’s Motorola Z/Force review with Motorola's modules concept and that’s not very encouraging too. Also, Google has already announced to shut down its modular smartphones project.

Like IBM, currently Apple is the giant against which Motorola has aimed its darts. But, do they even realize that they nothing, almost nothing to stack against Apple? When Apple released its ad, it was a popular Personal Computer company that led the industry. Motorola is, although a legendary brand in itself, is currently a company that’s sort of is alive on life-support after getting handed over to many companies and finally finding a small success at selling cheaper phones that have, after all inspired from Apple itself.

On what basis, what innovative feet, what achievement is Motorola trying to tease the dragon? It certainly feels like a child who broke the world record at making the biggest Card-house in the world and teasing its achievement to someone who has built the Eiffel Tower many times over. To really challenge Apple, Motorola really would have to prove that its modular concept (or any other concept they bring after this) is good and make it popular among the customers. Until then, it literally has nothing up its sleeves.

Apple's beating Intel without being in the same domain. Intel, the processor giant. And that's only one part of the iPhone. If Apple wants it is able to destroy many established companies single-handedly.

That's who Motorola teasing.

Oh, I forgot to mention Samsung. Motorola has also aimed its ad against Samsung. But, it’s like Motorola telling to Samsung that “Now I have better gimmicks to challenge Apple than you”, which also not true as recent Samsung phones are proving to be popular as Samsung has finally started doing something original.
